The Kansas Ornithological Society, in association with the Kansas Dept. of Wildlife and Parks, coordinates a bluebird trail and nesting program. The Chickadee Checkoff is contracting with Jim Piland to correspond with and receive reports from anyone involved in bluebirds. Jim may be reached at 516 US Hwy 281, Waldo, KS 67672-9252 and ph. 913-942-3355. Contact him for information on the last two year's results and reporting forms. Additionally, Chickadee Checkoff funds are used to support bluebird projects in a more concrete manner. KDWP offers up to ten (North American Bluebird Society style) bluebird boxes to organizations willing to put them up appropriately, maintain them and report nesting success to Jim. If your organization is interested in obtaining bluebird nesting boxes from the Chickadee Checkoff, contact your District Wildlife Biologist to order.
